Following the arrival of Christianity 2,000 years ago, Burgundy became the cradle of Abbeys and Castels that exerted a dominant influence on the spiritual life of all Europe. Starting in the fifth century, under the protection of powerful lords, the monks built Abbeys and Priories. They will seek out the best soils, delimit the most favourable climates, imagine and test the most talented winemaking and ageing techniques. Year after year, century after century, they slowly created the wine-growing region of Burgundy.
DE AUREO SPIRITO is a brotherhood formed by the owners of the largest Abbeys and Lordships of Burgundy. The wines they select are aged in very old cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges and bear the arms of those exceptional places.
